Torch celebrations – bring your wellies

Birmingham City Council is advising concert goers to today’s Torch Celebrations at Cannon Hill Park to be prepared and wear suitable clothing inlcuding boots or wellies, coats and brollies.

The concert starts at 2.30pm with internationally acclaimed CBSO and Soweto Kinch, SAMPAD, Birmingham Royal Ballet and Antics Dance Crew will showcase the best of Birmingham before the Torch arrives at around 8pm when the cauldron will be lit.

The Wanted will headline the concert with Morning Parade, Loick Essien.

“We have been working with the concert organisers to ensure that everyone has a good time today and we don’t wan’t the weather to spoil this historic moment for the city.

“We are advising concert goers to wear the best British festival wellies, coats and brollies and be prepared and above all enjoy the day.”
