Celebrations to mark Trafalgar Day will be taking place in Birmingham on Sunday 21 October to mark the anniversary of Lord Nelson's victory at Trafalgar 1805.

The ceremony will commence at 10.30 am at the Nelson Statue at the Bullring with music from The Band of the West Midlands Fire Service will, who will be performing as participants assemble.

A wreath laying ceremony will take place at 11.20 am. The Lord Mayor of Birmingham will lay a wreath as will representatives from the following organisations:

  • CO of HMS Forward for Royal Navy
  • Sea Cadet Corps and Sea Scouts
  • The Birmingham Nautical Club
  • The Nelson Society
  • The Birmingham Civic Society
  • Birmingham St George's Day Association
  • Girl Guides & Scouts

At the conclusion of the wreath laying there will be a Minute's Silence and Last Retreat/Reveille played by trumpeter/bugler from the Band.

The wreath laying will be followed by a parade which will proceed to Cathedral Green where the Lord Mayor of Birmingham will take the salute outside Birmingham Cathedral.
