Winter waste arrangements

Green fingered Birmingham residents who are set to brave the cold and continue gardening throughout the winter, are being urged to take advantage of alternative recycling arrangements, as the council shifts to its winter doorstep collection arrangements over the coming months.

In common with most major cities in the UK, Birmingham will continue with regular collections for household and other recyclable materials over the winter, but due to dramatic reduction in demand green collection services will cease from November 26th until February 7th.

In the meantime hardy gardeners are being urged to consider home composting or visiting Council-run household recycling centres should they have green waste which needs disposing of.

For householders interested in home composting the Council is able to provide new composters, priced very competitively compared to the High Street and delivered direct to your home.
