Wyndley Fitness Gym reopens

By on 12/08/2010 in News

Work on the refurbishment of the Gym and Dance Studio at Wyndley Leisure Centre has now been completed and both facilities have re-opened.

The new facility has been extended significantly and includes 71 pieces of state of the art equipment, inclusive Fitness Initiative pieces that cater for the needs of disabled and non-disabled customers and a well-equipped free weights area.

We apologise for the disruption the refurbishment has caused and look forward to welcoming back existing customers and seeing new customers using this excellent facility.  Qualified staff are on duty to assist customers in the use of the new equipment and their fitness development.

In order to start using the gym please call in at the centre in to the facility and the Receptionists will explain the induction process and book your starter programme.

The gym opens 6.30am - 5.00pm and 5.15pm - 10.30pm Monday to Friday, 8.00am - 7.30pm Saturday and 8.00am - 9.30pm Sunday.

As part of the Be Active initiative, Birmingham residents qualify for free use in the Gym, Exercise to Music classes at selected times and general Swimming sessions.  For detailed information regarding times and sessions please pick up a leaflet at the Swimming Pool or Sports Hall.

As part of our service improvements to the facilities we will be installing a moveable Boom (dividing wall) that will improve the flexibility and uses of the main pool area. Unfortunately in order to carry out this work the pool will need to close on 6th September and re- open on 20th September.  We apologise for the inconvenience this will cause for our customers.

Cllr Anne Underwood, Chairman of Sutton Coldfield Constituency Committee said, “ These are 2 projects that will significantly enhance our Sport and Leisure facilities in Sutton Coldfield and provide our customers with a much improved service”

Can residents who live in Streetly Sutton Coldfield who pay council tax to Walsall use the free gym facilities at Wyndley

      Sorry Janet no.

The scheme is funded for Birmingham City Council council taxpayers.
