Youth Arts Summit

Today, children and young people from across Birmingham are taking part in a Youth Arts Summit at Birmingham Hippodrome that will help to shape the future of their arts provision.

Run by Birmingham City Council's Culture Commissioning Service and supported by arts organisations from across the city, the event's aim is to capture the voice of our city's youth and harness the energy and excitement of young people's creativity.

Throughout the day young people have been taking part in discussions, debates, workshops and inspiring performances.

The Youth Arts Summit is being held as a direct result of a commitment made by Sir Albert Bore, at last year's Arts and Culture Summit, to ensure that the voice of young people is heard in cultural planning for the city.  Today's findings will also feed into regional and national conversations about the future for the arts.
