With over 12,000 amateur runners following in the footsteps of some of the world top athletes on Sunday, a sporting weekend gets underway with the Super 8 Sports Challenge 24 hours earlier.

In conjunction with the EDF Energy Birmingham Half Marathon, this fantastic free event will be held at the National Indoor Arena from 12 – 6pm on Saturday October 10.

The Super 8 Sports Challenge gives young people the chance to try eight different sports including:

  • Cricket
  • Climbing
  • Football
  • Skateboarding
  • BMX
  • Trampolining
  • Skiing
  • Mountain Biking

Each sport will have its own zone where qualified coaches will run fun activities, offering expert advice.  There will also be a challenge specific to each zone.

Top performers on the day will be displayed on a big screen leaderboard, with prizes for the best all-round athletes.

Information on sports provision throughout the city will also be available, so come along to see how you lead a healthier, more active lifestyle.
