Anger at leak of £1m cutback (Birmingham Mail page 5): Cllr Les Lawrence calls for officer who made allegations about cuts to youth service public to “consider their position”.
Cllr Lawrence stresses claims are inaccurate as budget for next year has not yet been set. Follow-up story on yesterday’s splash in the Mail based on leaked document which wrongly claims 7.5 per cent cuts will be made to youth services next year.

Anger over hall neglect (Birmingham Mail, page 8): Great grandfather of Joseph Chamberlain accuses BCC of decades of neglect and mismanagement of Highbury Hall which needs £3.85 million worth of repair.

Funding cut is a ‘death sentence’ (Birmingham Mail, page 11) Story claims BCC shake-up means a residential care unit for recovering addicts is under threat.
