Green-fingered council tenants and leaseholders gathered together for the annual Birmingham in Bloom awards ceremony at the Council House last night (Wednesday 19 October).

District winners and their guests attended the ceremony in the Banqueting Suite and city-wide winners in each category received a trophy, cash prize and gardening tools from the city’s Deputy Lord Mayor, Cllr Raymond Hassall.

He was joined by City Housing Liaison Board chair Joan Goodwin and Birmingham City Council’s strategic director for place, Jacqui Kennedy, who congratulated the award winners and thanked them for helping to keep neighbourhoods cleaner and greener, and making the city a more colourful and vibrant place.

Amongst this year’s gold medal winners were –
