Christmas waste collection plans

in News

Citizens of Birmingham are being reminded that there are no scheduled collections of household refuse on Christmas Day or Boxing Day (December 25 and 26).

Residents who were due to have their black bag waste collected on those days will now have a double collection on January 1 and 2 respectively.

A double collection of recycling will take place for the same households on January 8 and 9 respectively.

For those with large amounts of waste, the city's five Household Recycling Centres will be open as usual over the festive period except on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

Bulky waste collections will be suspended between December 27 and January 11 to assist in the collection of regular refuse and recycling.

After the festive celebrations end, citizens will be able to recycle Christmas trees from January 1 to February 1 at the following sites:

Lickey Hills Country Park

Sutton Park
