Cllr John Clancy, Leader of Birmingham City Council, has responded to the news that the Grand Central and Birmingham Gateway project – which the council had a key stake in – has this afternoon (October 14) been named as the overall winner (and the Regeneration category winner) at the 2016 RICS awards:

Cllr Clancy said: “I am delighted that Grand Central and Birmingham Gateway has won this prestigious award. As a council, we are fully committed to working with our partners to breathe new life into key locations around Birmingham, not just in the city centre but in our local communities.

“In addition to creating jobs and bringing in valuable investment, these projects also transform Birmingham’s landscape as the city continues to grow and prosper.

“Winning this award demonstrates the strength of our vision for this great city. It is testament to the hard work and commitment of all involved.”
