Kingstanding by-election result

The result of the Kingstanding by-election, held on Thursday 13 February 2014, is as follows:

Graham John Lippiatt - Liberal Democrats - 43 votes

Lorraine Louise Owen - Labour Party Candidate - 1,433 votes

Gary William Sambrook - The Conservative Party Candidate - 1,571 votes

Roger David Tempest - UK Independence Party (UKIP) - 266 votes

Terry Williams - National Front - 33 votes

Rejected votes - 9

Turnout - 19 per cent

Therefore Gary Sambrook is elected as a councillor for the Kingstanding ward.

The new composition of the city council is:

Conservative - 29 seats

Labour - 76 seats

Liberal Democrats - 15 seats
