Where: Carousel, Victoria Square, Birmingham Frankfurt Christmas Market

When: 10.45am Wednesday 28 November 2012

Students from Mayfield Special School in Handsworth will enjoy all the fun of the fair at Birmingham Frankfurt Christmas Market this week.

The lucky children are among 350 from Birmingham's special schools who are being given free rides on the carousel, thanks to the generosity of Bob Wilson's Funfairs.

As well as free rides on the carousel, students are treated to a free drink from the Lowenthal family drinks stall at the Frankfurt Market. Their schools are also given free parking for the trip and free online activity packs so that they get the most out of their experience.

The carousel in Victoria Square is complemented by Bob Wilson's Funfair in Centenary Square, next to the adjoining Birmingham Christmas Craft Market, which sees the return of the 150 foot Birmingham Wheel. Between them, the Christmas markets have 190 stalls and are expected to draw over three million people before they close on Saturday 22 December.

Anisa Shafi, a teacher at Mayfield Special School, said: “Our children will really enjoy their festive treat and the school appreciates the generosity and support given by Bob Wilson's Funfair, the Frankfurt Market stall holders and Birmingham City Council.”

The funfair and the Christmas Markets are open every day from 10am - 9pm until Saturday 22 December.
