Councillor Penny Holbrook, cabinet member for learning, skills and culture, said: “Since the Library of Birmingham opened it has been attracting visitors from within the city, around the UK and around the world. As well as being a lending library resource for locals, it is a tourist attraction in its own right, with people coming from around the globe to see our Shakespeare collection, the beautiful terraces and city views, and generally enjoy a wonderful public building.
“It is particularly interesting to see the comments praising the fact that joining and using the internet is free and that it is such a good learning resource.”
